Brian's Website

I finally have my own website! Apparently I was the last designer in the world without one, so the world is right again.

I mainly made it so you (family and friends) could see what on earth I do all day.

Check it out.

Happy Fourth of July!

As you may have guessed, the Fourth of July doesn't get much attention outside of the United States, but Brian and I decided to celebrate anyway and show our patriotism for our home country.

Since it fell on a Saturday this year, some friends and us rented an Amsterdam-style boat and spent most of the day parading down the canals showing our American pride (the star spangled banner was played more than once). It was a beautiful day, and we had plenty of food, including American-style snacks like rice krispie treats and watermelon (thanks Michelle!).

We ended the day with a barbecue at Colin and Lauren's house and even heard a few fireworks in the distance, though we didn't have any to set off ourselves. I couldn't have asked for a better Fourth of July - unless we were actually in the U.S., of course!

Here are a few photos from the day:

This is only part of the group - we had a lot of people!

We stopped on the side of a canal for a private concert from this guy - he was good, and we gave him a beer before we left so he was happy

To the beach

We've recently been trying to teach our dog to love water. It hasn't worked yet - but she can swim.

Here are a few photos from a recent trip to the windy Blijburg beach:

Trying to drag Rocket into the water wasn't the best plan

She was much happier hanging out with us on the sand

First day at work!

Today was my first day at Tommy Hilfiger. I am working at their global headquarters in Central Amsterdam, just 8 minutes by bike from our house.

My new group is the in-house advertising agency, so I will be doing similar work to what I did at Nike, but focusing more on advertising and less on retail.

I didn't accomplish much today as they were still working on my computer, but I did get to meet everyone and talk to the design team. It should be good to get to work on something new after
7 years in the sports industry, and I definitely feel like Tommy will be a different experience.

I am nearly finished with my website, so I will do a post when it is
up so people can see what I do.
